Description: |
This was a view looking west across the Louisiana Midland's bridge over the Black River at Jonesville, Louisiana. A train had recently dragged a derailed car across the structure, with one set of wheels in the gauge and the other on the guard timbers. |

Car Shop |
Description: |
Surface Transportation International built a railroad car repair shop along the Louisiana Midland near Ferriday, Louisiana in 1977; but it was purchased by North American Car in 1981 and immediately closed because of overcapacity in that business. Here's what was left seven years later. By this time the LOAM was out of business too. |
