An eastbound train was descending the Huey P. Long Bridge behind a trio of Southern Railway 6-axle units: SD40 3188, SD40-2 3243 and SD45 3168. The train originated at the Missouri Pacific’s AVONDALE YARD, at the west end of the bridge, and would become Southern Railway train 114 when a Southern crew took over at the east end of the bridge. |

The car was built by Budd in late 1949, became Amtrak 2nd 8380 in 1979 and then Amtrak HERITAGE FLEET car 8521. It was offered for sale in Amtrak’s 4 January 2019 equipment auction and went to the Branson Scenic Railroad. |
