SP 9401
Shortly before the start-up of Amtrak, Southern Pacific 12 double-bedroom sleeper 9401 was providing additional bedroom space on the westbound SUNSET as it left New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. The train's regular sleepers were usually a pair of 10-roomette / 6-double-bedroom cars. The 9401 had been built by Pullman-Standard in 1950 for service on the CASCADE, and became Amtrak 2291.
