It's 8:20 on a Summer evening and the westbound RIO GRANDE ZEPHYR is making its station stop at Provo, Utah. The next stop, and the end of the trip, will be Salt Lake City, 44 miles away. GP40-2 3103 is substituting for F9A 5761 and the other locomotives are F9B's 5763 and 5762, with ex-PB1 heater car 252. The 8-car train consists of combine 1230, flat-top coaches 1120 SILVER ASPEN and 1121 SILVER PINE, dome cars 1106 SILVER COLT, 1107 SILVER MUSTANG and 1105 SILVER BRONCO, diner 1115 SILVER BANQUET and dome-observation car 1145 SILVER SKY.
