MSRC 1036
Amid a cloud of exhaust smoke and dead kudzu, MidSouth Rail's JACKSON TURN emerges from the short tunnel under Washington Street as it climbs the steep grade up from the Vicksburg yard. The train has GP10's 1036 and 1037, GP9 9004, and GP10's 1001 and 1049 with 88 cars. The tunnel was built by the Alabama & Vicksburg in 1897.
