ICG Wreck 5
On 1 April 1975 the Illinois Central Gulf local heading south on the former Gulf Mobile & Ohio main line between Bogalusa and Slidell, Louisiana was diverted into the spur at Florenville and collided with some stored cars. The train was powered by a pair of GP10's: IC 8158 and ICG 8290. Engineer Luther Walley survived on the walkway behind the cab, while another trainman was in the trailing unit. The bridge is Louisiana Highway 36, built in 1937.
