Orleans Junction
In this view of Orleans Junction, the ICG McComb District (the main line from New Orleans to Chicago) runs across the bottom of the photo, and the KCS main line from New Orleans to Kansas City crosses the ICG on the right. The track along the high-voltage power line on the left is the original ICG Baton Rouge District (once a through route from New Orleans to Memphis via Baton Rouge and Vicksburg), and the S-shaped track connecting with the ICG McComb District at the lower left is a newer connection with the Baton Rouge District. The KCS track was removed in 1985 when that railroad began using trackage rights over the ICG between Frellsen and Shrewbury.
