| The Norfolk Southern's run-through train from Birmingham to the Espee passes through East City Junction on the NS BACK BELT. East City Tower, behind the lead locomotive, closed in July 1972; and the track on the right is the beginning of the NS Bernadotte Branch. Today's train is unusual in that it has a set of transfer units instead of road power. The train has SP GP9R 3435, EMD GP38-2's 830 and 766, and Rio Grande GP40 3066 with 96 cars. |
