AEPX train
An eastbound AEPX coal train is stopped on the Rio Grande at Tennesse Pass siding, just east of the Tennessee Pass tunnel and about 10,200 feet above sea level. On the right are the road engines, SD45 5334, GP40-2 3125, GP40 3069 and GP30 3026; while a 6-unit helper set -- GP40-2 3107, GP40 3065, GP40-2's 3113 and 3110, GP35 3047 and GP40-2 3097 -- is 30 cars deep in the 45-car train and caboose 01464 is on the rear. In a few minutes, the helpers will disentrain and return west 20 miles to Minturn, and the train will continue on its way to Pueblo.
