Southern Railway GP7 8211 crosses North Carrollton Avenue while working on the Bernadotte Branch. This was one of four GP7's (8210-8213) built in May 1950 for the Southern's Georgia Southern & Florida subsidiary. Prior to the opening of New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal in 1954, this line was used by Southern and GM&O passenger trains for access to the Southern's Terminal Station on Basin Street at Canal Street. |
