L&N Train No. 10
Louisville & Nashville office car 351 was bringing up the rear of train No. 10 - the all-stops local to Montgomery - as it made the turn from the Mississippi riverfront onto the median of Elysian Fields Avenue. The wooden car was built in 1910 and finished its career in 1953 based in Mobile as the superintendent's car on the Mobile, New Orleans, & Pensacola Division. The Esplanade Avenue Wharf was built on the site of the Espee's train ferry landing after the Huey P. Long Bridge opened in December 1935. (approximate month and day)
