| New Orleans Public Service, Inc. DESIRE LINE streetcar 868 was heading inbound through the French Quarter on Royal Street at Conti, as the horse on the left looked on. The DESIRE LINE cars were replaced by buses on 29 May 1948, right after this photo was taken. Car 868 had been built by the J.G. Brill Co. in 1922. (approximate day of photo) |
