L&N FP7 657
Louisville & Nashville FP7 657 was on a ready track at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. It had arrived earlier in the day on commuter train No. 9 and would go back out at 5:00 on train No. 12. The locomotive had been built as the 629 in July 1951, was renumbered 657 that December and was retired after an accident around 1967. The Kansas City Southern E-unit on the left was power for the SOUTHERN BELLE, while the Texas & Pacific E8A on the right would go out on the LOUISIANA EAGLE.
