Louisville & Nashville E7A units 779 and 781 were coupled to a trio of Illinois Central locomotives at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. Coupling the units together made it more convenient for the person who was servicing them as he moved them around for sand, fuel and water. The power had come in earlier on the PAN-AMERICAN and the PANAMA LIMITED and would depart on the same trains that afternoon. (approximate date of photo) |
