| New Orleans Public Service streetcar 869 was outbound on the WEST END car line next to Greenwood Cemetery, about half way through its 6½-mile trip from the Mississippi River to Lake Pontchartrain. This location was also the end of the CANAL-CEMETERIES car line until that was moved to the corner of Canal Street and City Park Avenue, about two blocks away, on 20 August 1951. Car 869 had been built by Brill in 1922 and was scrapped in May 1952. Buses replaced the WEST END car line on 15 January 1950. |
