NOPSI 054
New Orleans Public Service work car 054 was next to Greenwood Cemetery along with streetcar 899, which was displaying a CAR HOUSE route sign. The 054 was a dump car with a capacity of 20 cubic yards and had been built by the Differential Steel Car Co. in 1924, while the 899 came from the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1922. Car 899, along with trailers 901 and 917, was being used to dismantle the WEST END line, where buses had just replaced streetcars, and it was scrapped in June 1950. (approximate date of photo)
