| Louisville & Nashville E6A units 754 and 770 had just arrived in New Orleans on train No. 33 – the southbound PIEDMONT – and were now sitting in JULIA STREET YARD. Julia Street was in the foreground and the yard office was on the right. Regular steam operations on the L&N at New Orleans ended in 1952 and a steam engine left here for the last time on 27 January 1953, which then eliminated the need for that water column on the left. |
