NOPSI 839
New Orleans Public Service car 839 was outbound on the ST. CHARLES line on St. Charles Avenue. The car was wearing the window screens that had been added to some of the cars that were used on the ST. CHARLES and TULANE belt lines after World War II to protect passengers from vegetation. The 839 had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1922 and was scrapped in April 1953.
