NOPSI 936
New Orleans Public Service car 936 was at the end of the NAPOLEON car line, on Napoleon Avenue at Tchoupitoulas Street. The car had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1924 and had the distinction of making the last run on the WEST END car line on 15 January 1950. The NAPOLEON car line was replaced with buses on 18 February 1953; but the 936 survived until 15 June 1964, when it was scrapped following the closure of the CANAL car line. The steeple in the distance is St. Stephen Catholic Church at 1025 Napoleon. (approximate date of photo)
