Amtrak train No. 98 – the eastbound GEORGE WASHINGTON’s connection from Charlottesville – was sitting in the Chesapeake & Ohio station at Newport News, Virginia with C&O GP9 5893, Union Pacific coach 5550 and Baltimore & Ohio baggage-dormitory-bar-lounge car 1351. The B&O E-unit on the right would take train 99 back to Charlottesville to connect with No. 51 out of Washington.
