| Former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio crane 66408 was on the Illinois Central Gulf at Meridian, Mississippi. It was originally Alton X-39, built in 1913 as Industrial Works serial number 2868. After the Alton became a part of the GM&O, it was modernized with diesel power in 1948. It was subsequently ICG 100406 and then MidSouth Rail 1600 before being retired. (approximate date of photo) |
