Cotton Belt Units
This trio of Cotton Belt locomotives was photographed from the westbound SUNSET LIMITED as it passed AVONDALE YARD, at the west end of the Huey P. Long Bridge. These were GP40 7607, which had been built in March 1966; SD45 8966, which had been built in February 1968; and the nose of GP9 3645, which had been built in October 1957 as the 824 and was still in its original paint scheme.
