Eleven old General Electric locomotives were parked on the BNSF-Wabtec interchange just north of Wabtec’s Fort Worth Plant, on their way to being remanufactured. These were Canadian Pacific 9597, 9598, 9588 and 9647; Norfolk Southern 9191, 9224 and 9212; and CP 8542, 9644, 9657 and 9664. The CP units were AC4400CW’s and are going to be rebuilt into AC4400CWM’s while the NS units were C44-9W’s and are to become AC44C6M models. The Wabtec plant was closed for the holidays, which explains the build-up of locomotives on the interchange. |
