Once the transfer run had passed, the westbound train would cross over onto the eastbound track and continue on to the Huey P. Long Bridge and the Espee's Avondale Yard. Seaboard Coast Line U36B 1813 and GP40 1576, Southern Pacific GP35 6551 and Louisville & Nashville GP30 1018 were leaving the L&N's SIBERT YARD in Mobile with southbound train No. 401. Most of this train originated on the SCL in Jacksonville and terminated on the SP in Houston, so it frequently ran with power from all three railroads. |
