Newly-remanufactured Norfolk Southern AC44C6M 4463 was parked outside of Wabtec’s Fort Worth plant for a media event on 6 August 2021, along with 22-year-old C44-9W 9328. Wabtec had designated the 4463 as the 1,000th General Electric locomotive remanufactured at plants in the United States, Brazil and Mexico since GE began this program in 2015. The 4463 had been built in March 1998 as the 9177, while the 9328 had been built in February 1999 and would be remanufactured as a part of the railroad’s 2022 rebuild program. |
