S&A GP35 2715
Title:  S&A GP35 2715
Description:  Savannah & Atlanta 2715 was on a westbound transfer run at the Wisner Drive overpass in New Orleans. It was the last of 11 GP35’s bought by the Southern Railway with full S&A lettering in December 1964 and January 1965. The S&A had been owned by the Central of Georgia since 1951, so when the Southern obtained control of the CofG in 1963 it also got the S&A. These units were eventually relettered SOUTHERN with S&A sublettering on the cab, and this was later changed to CG. This loco was retired by the Norfolk Southern in October 1992 and donated to the Coastal Heritage Society in Savannah, where it has been restored as S&A 2715.
