It was assigned engine number 90 in 1957, renumbered 4060 in 1978 and then rebuilt into a road slug in 1979. It was retired in 1990 and sold to Lloyd Peterson in 1991 who had it cosmetically restored as KCS 73D and placed it on display next to the KCS depot in Decatur, Arkansas in 1993. |

The train was on the Southern Railway's New Orleans Terminal Co. subsidiary near Elysian Fields Avenue, and was about to get onto the SBD at L&N Junction. The motive power was GP40-2 798, F7A slug 4060 and GP40 788. |
