The other locomotives were SP SD45R's 7402 and 7404, B30-7 7803, NS SD60 6583 and -- in the lead -- NS SD50 6522. The cut of cars heading off to the right are on the spur into Garden City. |

The was a view from the cab of Southern Pacific SD45R 7409 with Seaboard System crew Y104 at East City Junction. The signal bridge was erected in 1973, when CTC was extended westward from here to Metairie Road. Y104 was on its way from the SBD's GENTILLY YARD to the foot of the Huey P. Long Bridge, where the train would be delivered to the SP. The other two locos were SP SD45R's 7402 and 7411. |
