Title:  IC E9A 4040
Description:  Illinois Central E9A 4040 and a mate were at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal engine facilities. Louisville & Nashville FP7 657 was parked ahead of the IC units, while an unidentified Texas & Pacific E8A was on the other side. The 4040 was one of the newest E-units on the IC, having been built in February 1957 using E7A 4010 as trade-in credit.

IC 0-8-0 3550
Title:  IC 0-8-0 3550
Description:  Recently-retired Illinois Central 0-8-0 3550 was parked at MAYS YARD, just outside of New Orleans. The locomotive was Baldwin serial number 60123, one of 15 switchers (3540-3554) built in July 1927. All of these remained on the roster until the end of steam operation in 1960.

NOPB box car 115
Title:  NOPB box car 115
Description:  New Orleans Public Belt boxcar 115 was parked on the NOPB siding along North Front Street, next to the Coca-Cola Branch Factory which faced Canal Street. (A streetcar can be seen in the background to the right of the 115.) The boxcar had a capacity of 80,000 pounds, a light weight of 33,700 pounds and load limit of 96,300 pounds. The placard to the left of the door was lettered COCA COLA SERVICE. (unknown photo date)

Title:  NOPSI 858
Description:  New Orleans Public Service car 858 was on France Street between North Miro and North Galvez, at the outer limits of the DESIRE LINE. From here, the car would head towards the Mississippi River 14 blocks to Royal Street and then continue up Royal about 28 blocks to the end of the line at Canal Street. (approximate date of photo)
