Amtrak Train No. 59
On a rainy Fall day Amtrak train No. 59, the southbound PANAMA LIMITED, was pulling into the station at Hammond, Louisiana behind SDP40F units 617 and 617 as the engineer of an Illinois Central Gulf local looked on. ICG GP8 7851 was in the background, on the south leg of the wye. At that time, Amtrak units 612-619 were regularly assigned to the PANAMA.
