At 15:40 on Saturday 14 December 1985 the westbound SUNSET LIMITED was heading out of New Orleans on the Illinois Central Gulf at East Bridge Junction. The train was made up of P30CH units 706 and 718, baggage car 1151, dormitory-coach 39901, and Superliner coach 34055, diner 38020 and sleeper 32027; but it was missing its usual 10-6 transcontinental sleeper. |
