Here was a view looking south along Justin Cemetery Road at the north end of the Wabtec/GE test track, three miles north of the Fort Worth locomotive assembly plant. On the right was a group of Canadian Pacific AC4400CW units - 9506 in the foreground with 9627, 9593, 9525, 9523,9554, 9539 and 9501 just beyond - having their traction motor/axle combos removed by a CP crew with the help of Hulcher Services from nearby Saginaw, Texas. CP had an urgent need for AC traction motors to repair flood-damaged units. |

A Hulcher crew from Saginaw, Texas was helping some Canadian Pacific personnel remove the traction motor/axle combos from at least 10 AC4400CW’s which were at the Wabtec-GE Fort Worth Plant waiting to be upgraded in to AC4400CWM’s. The center combo on each truck was being completely removed, while the end combos are being replaced with idler axles. Here the 9506 was being worked on. The work was being done at the north end of the Wabtec-GE test track. |
