L&NW F7A 47 |
Description: |
This F7A was built in November 1949 as Southern Pacific 6309. The Espee retired it in July 1969 and traded-in to General Electric the next month. GE quickly sold it to Wellsville Addison & Galeton in 1969; but it was never used by the WA&G. It was transferred to the Louisiana & North West in 1971 where it was renumbered 47. It was purchased by Entertainment Trains Inc. in May 1990 and renumbered 200 for excursion service between Houston and Galveston. After that operation ended, the locomotive was stored at the Galveston Railroad Museum. It was photographed outside the engine house at Gibsland, in the midst of its career on the L&NW. |
