SSW train BEASK |
Description: |
Cotton Belt train BEASK -- on its way from Beaumont to the Alton & Southern at East St. Louis -- was tied down in Cart siding, about three miles north of Bossier City, Louisiana. The 'K' suffix indicated that the cargo included hazardous material. The train was going to be here for a while, as there was no crew and it had been opened for a grade crossing a few cars back. Fortunately, someone was sweeping out the cab, so I was able to obtain the train's identity! The three GE's were B30-7's 7868, 7820 and 7848. That's the Red River levee to the right of the 8294's snow plow. |
