Title:  Eastbound T&P
Description:  Four Texas & Pacific F7’s and a GP9 were on an eastbound train dropping down the HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE on their way to RACE STREET YARD in New Orleans. All five of the units were equipped with dynamic brakes, which were put to good use on the 1.25% grade here. The GP9 was painted blue and grey, and not the swamp holly orange and black that was used on the T&P’s GP7’s. (approximate month and day)

T&P F7A 1582
Title:  T&P F7A 1582
Description:  Texas & Pacific F7A 1582 was at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal engine zone, along with an E8A. The 1582 had been built on 23 January 1952 and was one of four T&P F7A’s (1500, 1501, 1581, 1582) subsequently equipped for passenger service by the railroad, with 77 MPH (60:17) gearing, boiler controls and the passenger paint scheme. The locomotives had come in on the LOUISIANA EAGLE - the overnight train from Fort Worth - and would return west at 8 P.M.
