RBB&B 1975 Blue Train
Title:  RBB&B 1975 Blue Train
Description:  The LOUISIANA SUPERDOME, just barely visible on the extreme right, opened on 3 August 1975; and the Ringling Brother Circus made its first appearance in the building the next month. It was Ringling's first visit to New Orleans in many years; and during its stay here, the BLUE TRAIN was parked in the Illinois Central Gulfs Poydras Yard. In this view, taken from the South Broad Street overpass, the cars were the 158, and the 156 through the 138, in numerical order. Cars 119-127 and 130-134 were parked on the adjacent track, but these were not in numerical order. The nearest car was previously Southern Pacific 4-bedroom/4-compartment/2-drawing-room sleeper 9100, and the little windows were for the upper berths in the compartments. The other cars on this track came from the Baltimore & Ohio, Rock Island, New York Central and SP.

Ringling 158
Title:  Ringling 158
Description:  This was car 158 on the 1975 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey blue train. It was originally 4-compartment/4-double-bedroom/2-drawing-room sleeper IMPERIAL HARBOR, built for service on the OVERLAND ROUTE between Chicago and Oakland via the C&NW, UP and SP. It was built by Pullman-Standard as a Plan 4069H car in Lot 6688 and placed in service on 25 March 1942. It became an SP car on 31 December 1945, had its name replaced with the number 9100 on 8 July 1949, and was withdrawn from Pullman lease on 20 October 1967. It was sold to Judge Roy Hofheinz of Houston before moving on to Ringling Brothers. The little windows are for the upper berths of the compartments. The car was photographed in the Illinois Central Gulf's Poydras Yard. At that time, the Ringling cars did not wear any reporting mark.
